“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.” – Maya Angelou.

The deep wounds of unprocessed trauma, unseen losses, personal grief, and unexpected complex acute or chronic medical disorders are life-changing events full of unbearable pain. Medical professionals, first responders, caregivers, and family members of those with chronic illnesses often carry the trauma bound to their profession or life circumstances.  The outcome is often marred by anger, confusion, apathy, denial, feelings of helplessness or hopelessness, relentless worry, emptiness, loneliness, and isolation, a relentless cascade of emotions. With time, you may not even recognize yourself! I would love to meet you where you are and walk with you until you find yourself again

I am a licensed professional counselor with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and practice as a clinical fellow under the supervision of a licensed professional at Heritage Institute in the Upstate of South Carolina. I am trained and certified in Accelerated Resolution Therapy, an evidence-based form of psychotherapy that addresses unprocessed trauma, resulting in the restoration of hope. I have a person-centered approach to therapy with knowledge and skills in various therapeutic modalities. Some of these include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and training in Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD. I believe in and frequently incorporate mindfulness and grounding techniques in therapy sessions. In addition, I have experience conducting bariatric assessments and bring 21 years of previous experience as a medical professional. I have a particular interest in assisting those who are trying to pick up the pieces left behind by loss, grief, and trauma. I am a permanent student of life and would consider it a privilege to hear your story.
